The modern electronic tachometer typically requires an ignition system to read. This has made hooking up a tach to a diesel engine a bit of a challenge, due to the lack of any sort of ignition. AutoMeter’s Diesel Tach Adapter makes the process incredibly easy and affordable. Simply attach the included pickup to the outside of the alternator and calibrate with the push-button module. It will work with just about any engine with a crank driven alternator.
